Set resolution to 2560x1600 in UserEngine.ini
There were a few areas, such as the Botanical Garden, that had unexpectedly bad framerates.
One hard crash while walking through the map. The Joker boss battle froze, where Batman was still playable but The Joker wouldn't respond. Was able to restart the game and keep playing.
Overall, the game was playable and enjoyable.
Used the Vanilla Higher Quality (Docked) config from Arkham City Redux. Set screen to 2560x1600@144 in UserEngine.ini.
Great game - gorgeous at 1600p
Choosing a mission in the radial menu sometimes made gross noises in my headphones
Locked up the device a couple times. I think I had maybe one software crash.
Played the whole thing through at 1600p using the 30FPS frame lock and high settings.
Mostly good; audio during credits was cutting out
Cutscenes could be slow, particularly whenever in FEAST
If you set raytracing too high, the game will instantly crash upon opening. You can reset the graphics settings by deleting the .reg
files in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1817070/pfx/
I wanted to add my settings to my last report, but the game happened to crash and wouldn't reopen that night. I can't edit my review, so here's a second one with my settings:
Exclusive Fullscreen
2560x1600
60Hz, no v-sync
Upscaling off
High textures
4x anthro filtering
Low shadow quality
SSAO occlusion
Reflections on
Low detail
Low crowd/traffic density
High hair quality
Low weather particles
Low DOF
Bloom on
Flares on
Aberration on
Vignette on
FOV 0
Grain 10
Sharpness 10
These settings got me 30ish FPS most of the time and excellent visual fidelity. FPS tanked during my first battle with Shocker. I had been using the High preset prior to then, and set many things to Low to make it more playable. Forgot to check if they could go back to High after that battle.
Occasionally the FPS would tank. I think it's leaking memory until it crashes. You might be able to recover by lowering the graphics settings in the pause menu to e.g. extra low. It seems like whatever is tanking the FPS is also slowing the event listening, so you have to hold the buttons down until the changes take effect. If you just tap a button when the game is crawling, it won't register.
Copied the same settings I used in the main Spider Man game, and they worked great at 1600p (minus the note above about the occasional memory leak).
