Game otherwise functions perfectly fine, but performance is bad in a unique way
Performance is lower than what I expected for a game with relatively simple graphics. After a while the game will also start running into framepacing issues where slowdown will occur in a semi-consistent rhythm. This cannot be removed until the player restarts the game, but the issue will inevitably reveal itself again. In my opinion it can be quite distracting.

With or without fancy graphics/CSS filters, parts of the UI can flash in and out of existence.
With fancy graphics/CSS filters, icons will occasionally overwrite each other, and more stylized text elements such as the building counters will distort and become unreadable.
Without fancy graphics/CSS filters, some icons or HUD elements will disappear, but stylized text will not distort.
The fullscreen option is fine, but maximizing the window (which is a behavior that the game performs on startup) causes the bottom and right bounds of the viewport to exceed the window, causing part of the game to get cut off. This is problematic since vital functions of the game such as the building counters and some of the upgrade buttons will be off-screen as a result.
This can be worked around by either fullscreening the game from the options menu or not maximizing the window and instead clicking and dragging it to fill your screen.
When the window is maximized, the area where the mouse clicks will also be misaligned.
Graphical glitches and artifacts can cause issues in terms of gameplay, especially if it hinders important visual HUD elements such as building counters or upgrade icons.
After a while of running, the game's performance will steadily degrade to where framepacing is slowed in a semi-consistent rhythm. This cannot be removed and will only disappear after restarting the game, but will inevitably be reproduced.
Not sure if this is required still but I performed this DLL swap in the game's compatibility files: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/11dftq1/fix_halo_mcc_coop_between_windows_and_linuxsteam/
Outside of that, multiplayer works completely fine.
gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -r 160 -S integer -f -- %command%
Crackling was present but not all the time. Problem was not fixed when I switched to GE-Proton8-30, but I wanna say it was reduced?
Other monitor would occasionally glitch out and display various artifacts on some boots. Game will constantly grab focus if not ran in Gamescope.
I'd recommend using Gamescope to be able to restore Alt-Tab functionality, otherwise it's pretty good straight out of the box.
Regardless whether in windowed mode or fullscreen*, the game cannot lock the mouse cursor into the game's viewport, inevitably causing the player to click out of the game.
*You could theoretically remedy this by fullscreening the game and turning off any other monitors you have, that way the game's viewport and the bounds of your single monitor match.
Despite supporting cloud saves, upon installing the game again its quite likely your save file will be deleted and inevitably overwritten with the new blank one.
I would also heavily suggest that anyone that wants to play this on Linux do so through Proton instead of the native version, as the native Linux version is out of date and lacks content that the Windows version has.
Works out of the box, requires zero configuration
I will add I did have performance problems running this game at 4K, but that's completely to be expected in my opinion considering the hardware I'm running this on.
Game runs just fine, can play with friends just fine
Game occasionally crashes but given my friends' experiences with the game running via Windows natively, I don't think this would be specific to running the game on Linux.
Performance can be pretty bad but from what I've seen this is a trait also shared across both Windows and Linux.
