Without tinkering, all audio stops beyond the main menu, but the game is still perfectly playable. Switching to Proton Experimental allowed audio to play. No other issues observed.
Never saw a window appear
I tried several Proton versions, tried launch options previous reports listed (PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 and PROTON_USE_D9VK=1), but I never even saw a window appear.
Never even opened a window.
Tried Proton 7, 6, 5, Experimental, and GE, but it never even showed a window. It just quietly died during load. Instead, it worked perfectly first try with Wine, so I ended up bypassing Steam altogether. Was able to finish 100% no issues that way.
Only works on Flatpak Linux
Once the desktop version of the game started, if I moved it to my other screen, the mouse would still think the centre of the game screen was on the first screen.
There seems to be an issue between that newly added EAC and Proton's glibc usage, regardless which Proton I used. The game never got past the anti-cheat protection step. But once I installed the Flatpak version of Steam, it worked first try. You miiiight be able to have both the Flatpak and normal Steam installed at the same time, using the former for VRChat only.
