Since the game does not run on a folder with a dot, which also occurs in its Windows version btw, it is actually hard to set up in Linux since by default Steam will be installed in your .local directory, to avoid this problem create a new library folder outside .local or any other dot directory and then install the game there or move its folders.

If the game/launcher fails to open after this move verify the files, it should now run.
