Astroneer on Linux runs a lot and I mean a lot better. I was getting 80 to 100 fps on Windows and on Linux, I was getting around 300 fps. What a difference! This may vary though as AMD has better graphics support on Linux than Nvidia. When I had an RTX 3060, it would run better on Windows than Linux. I used GE as it was on the list of games on the GE GitHub.
Unable to use Proton 6.3 (unable to launch game). Best results on 5.13. Migrate popup appears on every launch. Other than that, Works GREAT!
BeamNG.drive added a migrate tool and every time you launch the game it thinks your on 0.0.0.0 and it migrates your data. as long as you keep clicking migrate the save data it will stay but its very annoying.
The new Ultra setting works just fine with no artifacts. Runs better than Windows 10 by 40 FPS.
Game works just fine but you are unable to change the save data location.
Unable to change save location. Gives an error regarding the registry. Can't find any information from the game on how to fix it.
Used default gaming preset
Felt like the game stutters more rather than lags.
Running this method does not allow steam to connect.
Had to use bottles using soda to get it working but steam workshop does not connect to the game so its a limited experience. Im guessing it was because of DirectX12 support.
Runs perfectly fine with a good FPS boost.
For my hardware configuration, it was better to play the game on Windows since it ran better even with Vulcan and OpenGL.
Compared to Windows, I lost around 10-15 fps with Vulcan. OpenGL made it much worse with a 20-25 fps loss comparing to Windows.
You could get better FPS. It depends on your hardware configuration. If I had only Linux I would then play it on Linux.
