Processes Vulkan shaders on first launch, play button briefly switches to say exit, game never opens, play button returns
had to disable proprietary nvidia drivers in my nixos config, anything that required steam runtime began working again

Game has to be installed on an ext4 partition (I have an NTFS partition meant for sharing games with windows) or else EA app fails to launch.
