Works well in Desktop mode, haven't tried in VR mode but I'd imagine it would work as well as expected for Linux VR.
The game itself works very well, however, you will need to modify your Proton setup to get the in-game browser to work properly. (Mainly because a lot of spaces use them for YouTube video players, etc.)
- Locate the folder where your Proton version is installed. By default, this is usually under:
/home/yourusername/.local/share/Steam/compatibilitytools.d
- Open the Proton folder you're using and find a file named
proton
. - Open the
proton
file in a text editor. - Search for the string
6030
. You’ll find anif
statement with a list of game Steam IDs. - Add the following entry below the existing ones:
"2564460", #Banter
- Save the file.
Now launch Banter with the updated Proton version, and the browser should work as expected.
If you ran it without installing BetterSADX or the Dreamcast Conversion Mod, the Steam version would work without issue.
Used quartz, like the last report said, to fix pre-rendered cutscene issues.
I get very noticeable micro-stutters a little bit, even on a workstation computer.
If using BetterSADX or the Dreamcast Conversion Mod installer, The Lantern Engine mod doesn't work. Lantern Engine mod can't detect "d3d8.dll", even with the .dll file present in the folder. The Dreamcast Conversion Mod may go to a black screen after the SEGA logo, though I'm figuring out whether it's a software issue or a hardware issue.
