Works great on Proton 4.11 out of the box. I wish there were more like these!
Game is stuck on "preparing to launch Sid Meyer's Civ III..." steam dialog
I added the "KeepRes=1" line to the conquests.ini file, but game won't launch or rather it's t stuck in the dialog above.

Crashes when starting a game.
Installed fine, got it launch using the KeepRes=1 line and saw the initial menu. Sadly both "quick start" and "start game" will crash once the loading bar displays.
