Must unpack the game's .ap files in order for most routes & scenery to work.
cd find ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/RailWorks/ -name "*.ap" -execdir unzip '{}' ';'
Occasionally the game would freeze when loading a scenario and would have to be restarted.
Many of Train Simulator's routes have long histories of bugs which makes it difficult to know if a bug is native to the game or if it is an issue with Proton. Launching the game with the "Play and Save (64-bit Win8.1/Win10)" button crashes the game. Use "Play and Save (64-bit Win7)" button instead.
Appears to work the same in Proton 7.0-3 the same as it does in Windows 10.
