When a few input, and sound bugs are worked out, i could easily keep playing on linux as a daily driver option.
Had to go into forums to find a way to get dialogue, and some sounds working, you have to add " WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90 prime-run %command% " to steam launch options to get these sounds working
Mouse works for about 1 to 2 mins with no issues, then get either reallyt delayed, sometimes tasking up to 45 seconds to register a click, or not even registering a click at all.
Save games load, but any automaton dlc characters (or bots) will be missing their upgrades, or chassis components.
Can run on high-medium settings on windows, have to run settings on low to get game to boot, but still runs fine
Once the campaign bugs are fixed along with the minor graphical hitches, and tears. They could easily play this with minimal issues.
Occasionally you cant tab out of the game, but most of the time it works fine. Secondly if you tab out alot, such as to veiw a web browser, it will occasionally lock the game up and crash it.
Occasionally/often will have frame rate dips and slight tearing, but still able to run graphics settings on high, few issues.
When first tested on proton 5.3 you couldn't play the campaign, cant progress. It still seems to be an issue that persists, even on the experimental branch.
They would have a much better experience if they either set the settings down to medium or the performance issues was fixed
When playing the same game with windows i could run all settings cranked to high with minimal issues, on POPOS 21.04 if i am on a larger map, or playing frontier defense, the game will drop to 15 to 10 fps when too many particle effects, nps, or titans are on the screen.
Just when too many entities or things happeneing around you, can cause the game to lag terribly 50% performance drop with everything set to high and too much action.
