Runs Flawlessly. In Fact, Dare I Say It, It Even Runs Better than on Windows
The game has had zero issues in my 15 hours of testing. In fact, my laptop, which couldn't even handle the game under windows 10, runs this competently under proton. Not super well, graphics have to be cranked down and it only barely hangs onto 30 fps there, but that's a helluvalot better than the goose egg it got on windows, is it not?
For the most part runs fine, suffers from the ocassional crash while in menus
The game will crash on occasion. I'm not sure why this happens, and the only other person to report issues similar to mine was also using an intel GPU, so I suspect it's a problem with their linux drivers. I've tried switching to older proton variants but that only makes the game less stable, stick to experimental for now. The issue only seems to happen if you spend too long in a menu, like to look through your inventory or at void relics. Again, I'm not sure why. The game will also hitch every so often but I have yet to see it do this outside the orbiter and I have yet to see it crash, though I don't doubt for a moment that either are possible.
After playing it for about 6 hours or so on linux, I can recommend it, but that recommendation comes with an asterisk if you're using an intel GPU.
Runs flawlessly, all issues I had previously have since been resolved
There's not much to add to here, which is always a good sign. Game performs quite well without any issues or tampering. Previously the game would often stutter, suffer graphical issues, and crash or lock up the computer upon an alt-tab. I've played for about 30 hours since then and suffered no such issues within the past month.
