Any further tries to launch the game are met with freezes, depending on your selected proton. Regular: ubisoft logo. experimental: main menu. GE produces the same results. only way i have managed to run the game again is by deleting proton files and going thru first time setup again. i have not tested any beta branches simply because i gave up.
Text size can be adjusted in-game
Overall a very enjoyable experience, even if you do not own the direct Steam version. The game installs via Connect lanucher and runs well. Runs on the Steam Deck on medium preset with variable framerate of 45-60FPS, no stuttering or notable glitches.
I played Assassins Creed Mirage using the game preset and got pretty much identical performance results, so I would recommend that also on the Deck.
Before intial launch run the config first, steam will automatically suggest it, and change the language, it defaults to German otherwise
There is an official controller layout provided by the developer. L1/R1 controls the camera. A button to confirm, left stick for controls, the classic.
Not a big deal in the gaming mode, only happens on desktop
Works lovely! Servers are/were struggling at release but that is not an issue with the game itself
I dont want to not support the game. It is good, but in its current state it is a mess on all PC platforms.
You can enjoy the game mosty at 30 to 40FPS, but the game drops frames significantly
Can crash after longer play sesstion due to the Deck getting hot and freezing
Purchase at your own risk, maybe wait for a patch or two. RIght now, the experience just isnt stable enough
The game would not launch using current Proton 8 provided by Steam. Proton GE8-23 launched it without issues though
