If you have an Intel CPU and have a freeze and disconnect, try disabling split lock mitigation.

Intel CPUs seem to experience a freeze after loading into the game that will disconnect you from the server. I was able to fix this by disabling split lock mitigation with the command sudo sysctl kernel.split_lock_mitigate=0. This doesn't fix the freeze, however the player will not be disconnected and the game will be playable after.
Disabling split lock mitigation was the only way I found to be able to play this game.

Does not launch out of the box. I had to roll back and keep checking older versions of proton. 4.11-13 worked and it seems fine with it.
