The game runs almost as well as it does in Windows.
Stuttering in busy areas, otherwise runs smooth.
Crashes on the title screen.
The first time playing the game was fine, I completed a boat race but then the game froze when I was riding an ATV around the map, which may have been a bug from the game itself rather than Proton since sometimes the loading zones would freeze in Windows. All of my attempted playthroughs would play the company logos but then crash at the title screen, and validating the files didn't yield any better results.
This game is garbage, it was delisted for a number of reasons.
The game crashes at the title screen when a controller is plugged in. When the controller is plugged in during gameplay it isn't detected.
Sometimes freezes during loading screens, loading zones on the map, and on the title screen. The game is known to behave this way on Windows as well.
EAC stops you from getting past the loading screen.
%command% -noeac
EAC prevents you from getting past the initial loading screen, bringing up an error "Failed to create IGameClient instance! Check that the game was run from the correct launcher. Online Play may not be available." Using the commands from the network test to disable EAC no longer works, as EAC launches anyway. (Note: During the network test, Steam Deck compatability was discussed and PR used the excuse "It's a network test and likely the final game will have Proton compatibility enabled." But now it's obvious that it wasn't planned at all.)

The game isn't that great, but it does work perfectly out of the box.
I managed to give the game controller support without an official update, complete with gyro controls.
Steam install helper fails.
Missing executable 'MovieStudio130.exe', looking in the folder before and after verifying integrity of the files revealed no such file.
Enabled Gyro and had to change some buttons taht were left with the default keyboard controls that had no function in this game.
Looking at too much action in one area causes frames to drop.
All options were set to low, motion blur was turned off, and FSR was turned on for a smoother experience.
