There was stuttering but that was fixed by turning off PhysX in the in-game settings.
Frame rate was quite a bit lower than on windows but still good.
The built in benchmark is deceptive, not sure why there is a discrepancy between my score and actual performance but it doesnt feel terrible at all. There is an in-game frame limiter but in my experience it doesnt work too well; the fps hovers around ~5 or so frames below the set cap. Shame to lose PhysX too but not that big of a deal. Windows performed much nicer overall.
GPU usage was higher than on windows but this didnt cause any issues. Could also just be innacuracies with the unofficial page on KDE sys monitor.
Can only say this for native or light modding
There is a problem on some lenovo yoga laptops with the speakers and for some reason this game breaks the fix until a restart
Just worse overall than windows with higher temps for worse framerates, frame consistency, loading times... ive never had my laptops keyboard feel warm until i tried linux gaming.
Modding just doesnt work half the time its a pain
Overhaul mods (which are kind neccesary to keep MB fun) are unplayable and the vulkan texture thing took my 14 core CPU more than two hours while maxxing it out.
practically unplayable for me, native kinda works but im not bothered to force my way through 13fps sieges
Via proton performance randomly drops to sub 10 frames for no reason, similar thing happens to native during a siege
PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Its a very old game and I had issues with windowing even on windows. If you don't use gamemode it may blackscreen of if you tab out.
Also worked perfectly well with GFM, no issues for me, however if you do have problems check the victoria 2 modding discord. GFM has its own section and some say that it can crash on certain proton versions.
