Other than minor perf issues, after the proton change the experience is even, if not better to windows.
Crashed two times during my overall playtime of 8 hrs
EAC works unexpectedly good, after I changed from proton default to proton experimental or 7.0-1
Launcher fails to start entirely
Clean compatdata, all components verified. Using proton 6.3-8 or Experimental does not change a thing. Launcher fails to start entirely. Forcing wined3d makes the launcher work, but launching Odyssey crashes the game. Horizons starts, but quality is miserable (probably bc of forcing OpenGL). Unplayable out of the box.
Steam from Fedora's Repo was the problem. Re-installed the game via Steam flatpak and it works out of the box. No idea what happened.
Until Nvidia releases a driver which fixes this, the out-of-the-box experience for certain users will be unplayable.
gamemoderun %command%
NVIDIA wrecked this game with their driver version 530.41.03. I reverted to 520.56.06 and everything works flawlessly.
Can't get past the intro. Game crashes in the first turn, when driving slowly (~40 km/h) it crashes at the cut scene for winter. This also happens with dynamic graphic settings turned off, although others have reported this would resolve the issue. Crashes with page fault.
Can't get past the loading screen
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr12 %command%
Doesn't even start with GE 8-16, can't get past the loading screen with Experimental. Worse than a few months ago when it at least ran ~2mins. Tried lowest settings, V-Sync off and no MSAA, no change. Dies after hanging during the loading screen.
Nothing to tinker, works out of the box
Didn't even notice I was in multiplayer until players started walking by me
