This is usually not needed and the game should work perfectly for those playing from a Steam Deck, but if you have launched the game from Windows before, a file in /home/[your user]/.local/share/DustAET/Save Files/Player1/ named Settings.sav can cause a black screen on launch.
Here's how to fix for those who have the issue:
- Launch the game with Steam Cloud on
- Go to the directory (while the game is on, do not close the game!) and delete Settings.sav
- Exit the game, relaunch and it should work perfectly.

The game works OOTB, but in the Native version the Steam Overlay doesn't work. In the Proton version it DOES work, but then the mouse becomes super floaty and weird/uncomfortable to use
