I decided to wait and see and it took 10 mins to boot up the game menu. Not playable at the moment, will look into fixes and report back if I get it going. Proton 9.0.3 and experimental.

My Previous issue was driver related.
I essentially had to force my hardware not to use the onboard gpu from the cpu.
This required me to edit my grub settings at sudo nano /etc/default/grub GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash radeon.cik_support=0 amdgpu.cik_support=1"
and sudo update-grub and then reboot.
After this I opened up any and all games and found my graphics card was taking the load so it wasn't the game at all.
