It wouldn't run until I upgraded my nvidia driver, this was pointed out to me by the protondb website (this!).
despite performance issues and a few bugs, still fantastic uboat simulator.
It's really rather slow although I have not tried reducing the graphics quality in settings. It is still amazingly stunning to look at though!
Once i could not re load my game, i think i just maximised and minimised the game in ubuntu gnome. another occasion i could not get time working, i mean i had it accelerated and then it seemed to be stuck and time was frozen. i restarted the mission and this bug has not re-appeared. this is probably nothing to do with linux.
Working perfectly
My machine cannot handle the very highest graphics setting although it does not crash. The second highest is usable adn quite amazing. The 'good' setting, second lowest is very smooth. No errors or issues. once in 20hrs it froze, restarted and all fine again. I had to get the latest proton, my last report was an older version (yr since i played). What an astoundingly good game and experience on Linux!
