Black Screen no matter what

When launching the game, no matter the proton version, no matter the launch options, no matter the desktop, I just could not get this game to run, it would only go to a black screen, and the game's internal halt checker pops up and asks if I would like to close the game. I'm thinking there's some hidden hardware requirement as my cpu and mobo are quite old, and many people with comprable hardware were able to get the game to run.
The weird thing is that I did my due diligence, and ran the mhw benchmark to make sure my pc would be able to run the game.
Don't know what to do at this point. Very borked game.
