Runs great out of the box in various versions with only a few minor issues.
Opening steam overlay can crash the game if it's open during a loading screen, so just avoid opening the overlay when you are expecting to enter one.
I tried it with experimental, 6.3-5, and also Glorious Eggroll 6.14-2 to use FSR with the title without any major issues besides the mouse cursor appearing in menus and the overlay crash.
Experience is the same as Windows but alt-tabbing actually works well.
The effects, not voices, can go out of sync in cutscenes where the player has no control. I believe I had this issue on Windows 10 as well so it seems to be a game specific issue, and it doesn't happen in all cutscenes.
Just like the windows version, the game can stutter pretty hard at times.
When on Windows, alt-tabbing causes the mouse cursor to always get displayed on screen and behave oddly and would require a restart. Under Proton however, this issue doesn't happen at all.

The performance appears to be much lower on Proton, I was able to hit around 1440p 70+ on Windows 10 and got around 60-50FPS at 1440p.
Because of the much worst performance at 1440p than my windows install, I installed the latest Glorious Eggroll fork to use FSR to keep the game looking decent at a lower resolution than native, which keep the framerate at a solid 90-100.
