The gamma slider in game does not function (and the game is very VERY dark). Due to this, there are many reports of the game being too dark to play.
As a workaround, I highly recommend manually adjusting gamma before starting the game by using xgamma in the terminal (e.g. $ xgamma -gamma 1.8). After you are finished playing, you can reset gamma to "normal" via "$ xgamma -gamma 1.0".
Occasionally, starting in full screen will fail to fill the entire screen -- showing a 1px wide view of the desktop along the bottom and right edges. This can be fixed be entering the in-game settings, disabling Full Screen, and then re-enabling Full Screen.
Otherwise, only the occasional stuck sound (infinite 1 second loop), which requires a game restart. Overall, runs great aside from the primary gamma issue and the other minor annoyances mentioned.

Works great out of the box on Nvidia hardware. However, for a machine with Intel integrated graphics (Intel HD Graphics 530) I had to add "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" to the game's Launch Options (under Properties) in order to get it to run.
Game runs perfectly out of the box. Tested with Proton 6.3-8 and 4.2-9. Flawless in both cases.
Played through the tutorial and the first level of story mode. Graphics, sounds, and gameplay were flawless. Controller/gamepad support was not tested.
Works out of the Box
Running perfectly out of the box with default settings. No tinkering necessary.
