Crashed when selecting faction.
Install worked, game launched, saw the opening cinematic, it then hung after selecting the faction. The petroglyph crash reporter pops up and the game freezes, I need to kill it. Tried PROTON_USEWINED3D=1 and it did not work.
Works great, had a bug, it was on my side. Remember Linux can have 2 dirs with the different cap keys, windows cannot.
Great game, we should support them as they are working with us!
I think it will work well as long as you don't use a HOTAS
This uses the same binding system as absolute territory, it does not work with my hotas, it cannot detect throttles
Install mfc42 and everything works!
The game may take a little time to start, you may get a "window not responding screen" at first, click wait and it's fine.
Not a great game, but it works. It's a dos game I think, so I don't know why it's here.

How to run: Used the Gog Version, simply ran Proton 4.11
$ '/home/$(user)/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ 4.11/dist/bin/wine' StarControl_Dx11.exe
from the starcon:origins directory. Played the full game, finished it.
Performance: on an rx570-8g and a ryzen 2700, the performance was great. I played 1080p 8xAA and it only stuttered once during the final boss battle.
Nothing too special, but didn't work when using the steam launcher, had to use the command line. I'm sure there's a tweak somewhere to fix that.
Unstable, but reset the game until it works.
Missing character and menu textures. sometimes the cursor disappears. Seems random.
