Will crash upon trying to create save data with standard Proton or Proton Experimental. Works perfectly using Glorious Eggroll GE-2.
As long as you enable Vsync in the options, this game will run flawlessly.
With Vsync disabled by default the game will stutter heavily (not present on native Windows), but enabling Vsync will entirely resolve this.
Works perfectly with no tweaks required, also works correctly with half rate shading enabled.
Missing video cutscenes
Game installs and launches, a debug message is thrown and can be accepted allowing the game window to appear - however this will remain a black screen until a second debug window appears; pressing accept on this debug window will close the game.
Copying the "/steamapps/common/Petz Horsez 2/Petz Horsez 2/Save/" folder to "/steamapps/common/Petz Horsez 2/" will allow the game to boot, but any in-game video cutscenes show an error clip instead of displaying properly.
EGS causes issues as always, but works fine on second boot and beyond. Just make sure to quit out on the initial black screen after linking.
EGS will cause it to fail to boot on first install. Launches fine on successive attempts.
Works flawlessly straight out of the box. No graphical issues, no performance issues - worked perfectly with an Xbox controller.
Runs flawlessly.
99% of other reports show the video cutscenes in-between chapters cause a black screen and require deleting the .wmv files to progress. However on my Linux install with whatever settings or packages I may have installed - they work as expected on a native install. Even after choosing a random chapter or starting a new game - the videos play back correctly.
I shall count myself lucky assuming this was not just fixed accordingly in the latest Proton Default
