It really just played as expected
Played on Steam Deck. Installed just fine. I disabled the videos in the config (which I used touch screen on the for that separate config tool that you get the option for when you launch), but outside of that everything is just left be. Ran great, no issues. Honestly don't know why it shows as totally unplayable, because my experience is quite different.
Worked out of the box on my Linux laptop, and my Steamdeck. No tweaking needed.
The only thing is it doesn't show controller button icons for the element selection in the lower left hand corner, but anything that pops up on screen to tell you what to do shows the proper buttons or sticks to use. I pretty much just ignored the thing on the lower left hand corner (it is meant for quick use on keyboards), and used the right joystick method the tutorial said to use. Everything played without issue.
Black screen on launch, complains about no GPU detected if I tell it to use Nvidia GPU
Using GE-6.20-2, get black screen no matter what. If I specify my Nvidia GPU, it claims no GPU detected then complains about out of date drivers (currently running latest). If I use my integrated GPU, it starts without error, but still get a black screen.
When you start it, you get the game selection screen, and once you select your game, it switches to a blank screen. Sometimes the steam button will work and let you exit, but more than once I've had it to where I had to restart the system.
With current version of SteamOS, if you have the "Echo-Cancel Sink" volume to set to something other than 100% there will be no audio. Go to Desktop mode, click the volume icon by the clock, slide the slider to max (but leave the Speaker as your preferred sound device), and you will have sound.
Ran great on the Steam Deck.
