Nothing to do just don't change the API in the main menu and leave Vulkan API. DirectX 12 API will crash the game. If you did the step to change the API, here where you need to go :
/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/1174180/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/Settings/
Search the API section inside the file "system.xml" and change : kSettingAPI_DX12 to kSettingAPI_Vulkan. Saving and relaunch the game.
Don't use Frame Generation
Don't use DLSS Frame Generation for this game. It'll give you a big input lag. Leave it unset, set the game at the maximum FPS you can get. The game will run better without these feature.
Just in case, if you set Proton 9.0 on release-channel to try and get DLSS 3 Frame Gen, just don't use it on this game. It gave so many input lag, lower FPS after some playing hours in a row. Cap the FPS as high as you can, use DLSS/FSR only and RT set on if you want to.
Run perfectly on my rig, without FG. Leave Proton Experimental on steam, so i didnt used the GE-Proton (it works fine either).
