Tinker Steps:Launcher: bottles, Custom Proton: Default of Bottles (gaming)
I purchased the game on GOG, which is why I can't say how well it works with Steam and Proton, but I find it unlikely that it wouldn't work there.

Performance:Slight Performance Problems
The game took several minutes to load into the main menu.
I also had to lower graphical settings to 'Low' in order to play without stuttering.

You can escape from fullscreen, but there frequently was an issue where after doing that, the game would freeze and you couldn't continue playing without restarting it. Since I haven't tried this lately, I don't know whether this issue still exists.
