There is a sign in for microsoft account, but this can be completed whilst launching from gaming mode
You have to sign into your microsoft account via the generic screen, then you are good to go.
You do not have to launch the game from desktop mode to be able to log in to the microsoft account.
I set TDP to 12W and set an FPS cap of 45.
Runs great on medium settings, 1200x800.
