Other than being unable to control audio levels, it seemed to play as I'd expect.
Audio levels could not be controlled via options - everything maxed out no matter what the sliders said.
Besides the mentioned issues with missing menu video and game not quitting properly, it seems to work perfectly.
Main menu background doesn't load - I think it's a video issue, has some sort of 'video test pattern' type thing in place of the proper background. Using Proton-GE it loads fine, but not standard Proton. Unsure if any other parts of the game have this issue or just main menu background, as I switched to Proton-GE after I first encountered the issue.
The game doesn't quit - tell it to quit and it just sits there, audio continues etc. Alt-tab to Steam and click stop and it quits then, but not using the in-game menu.
I only tried the demo, but it all seemed normal. No sign of the "crash after ten minutes" reported by the previous person.
Seen Quill18 had the same artifacts running AMD, so probably unrelated to Proton
Saw lots of mentions that proton experimental was required, so just went with that. No other tinkering - no commands, forced d3d mode or whatever. Just worked.
Proton-6.10-GE-1
The world map is slightly slow, and incredibly slow when revealing tiles; battle screen runs smoothly
Once it crashed, and another time it rebooted my machine and Steam 'lost' the install so I had to attempt to download again for it to rediscover the local files.
It won't exit. Quitting the game, it just hangs - alt-tab to Steam and press stop it then closes OK.
Like a previous person's report, the initial download wouldn't run due to missing files - switching Proton version to GE in properties it downloaded 1GB and is now OK. Pretty sure it hadn't downloaded 1GB of data the first time, it seemed too quick.
Literally just loaded the game up and started it - skipped all the cutscenes and loaded into the first gameplay (not got time to play or watch cutscenes but wanted to see if it at least loaded without errors). All seems good.
The launcher has some errors; one reported by a previous person ("Error: could not load the correct language. Please delete the settings file and retry. (Documents\My Games[Game Title]\Launcher)"). But trying to click the settings cog in the launcher also returns a .Net Framework error - presumably as I don't have Mono installed. The game then will not load at all if this error has been triggered - but, terminating and re-running the game without triggering the .Net Framework error it worked fine.
Proton-6.10-GE-1
Playable but a bit slow in medium settings at 4k, might not be related to Proton as Windows discussions mention unexpectedly slow performance too
Crashed on main menu when using Proton 6.3-4, had to use GE to fix it but then it ran fine. Didn't seem to want to exit though - alt-tab to Steam to stop it.
