IMPORTANT! The game runs flawlessly but the singleplayer is capped to 30fps although the FPS counter might show a higher value, resulting in a choppy gameplay.
This isn't a problem with Proton/Linux but the game engine itself. Took me a while to figure this out. Apparently there isn't a fix available to the engine as of writing this review.
Some people are running the game in a dedicated LAN server mode to mitigate the issue.
Works fine except for the same bug as in Far Cry 5 that hair and fur are rendered as transparent
Hair and fur are transparent.
Works almost perfectly. Have been able to play normally.
Sometimes shadows tend to "jiggle" around. Very minor and only visible when it's sunny.
Crashes when making certain choises and performance is pretty poor. The game is otherwise playable so far.
FPS hovers around 20-30.
Crashes every time pose is changed.
The game is made with Unity so it could be easily ported to run natively on Linux.
FPS drops when in windowed mode.
On high setting the FPS is around 30-40. Much better than previously tho.
Sometimes crashes when entering the sex scenes.
It's somewhat playble now. Running a bit slow but it's much more tolerable than before. One needs to switch the Proton Experimental to get the latest improvements.
Game launches in window regardless of fullscreen setting in options. Need to go to options, untick fullscreen and tick it back on. May need to repeat this 4-5 times.
