The game works perfectly. You have to start the game manually with the DDLC.sh file or with steam startup options though.
Tinker Steps:Custom Proton: This game is linux native, Set launch options
./DDLC.sh # %command%
Proton did not start for me but running the native .sh file is better anyway.
