First time playing lasted 2 minutes. Second time playing lasted 8 minutes.
When starting the game native and with Steam play compatibility mode the config window is shown and when hitting OK the game starts at the menu screen immediately. In that screen, as soon as you hit a key the game crashes to the desktop.
Using Proton gives a normal game start-up (showing the Square Enix screen, Unity screen etc.) and ends up in the start menu where you can use the menu (new game/continue/settings/etc). But when the game has started you won't know how long you can play, because of the sudden crashes
FPS too low on my system
FPS below 30
Not sure what is going on. Played around with the resolution and advanced graphics, but none helped to get my FPS up. Nevertheless, playable without any tricks!
No tinkering, just play
No support for windowing or UWQHD, so had to play it on 2nd monitor (FHD).
Main menu not functioning
When I wanted to continue playing the game after I successfully used it the first time, the game dropped me off in a freezed Main menu. The only thing that was working was the mouse. Clicking the menu buttons didn't work. The buttons didn't even lit up when hovering over them. Had to close the game from the Steam overlay. Tried several other Proton versions and eventually a re-install of the game, nothing helped... Finished it on Win11 (not without problems, but that's another story)
Short enough to not become irritating
Especially mouse clicks were laggy. Keyboard was fine
I had a lot of "problems" with the mouse clicks. It seems like the hit-boxes of the items to interact with are very tiny (like pixels). E.g. if you have to click an in-game button 4 times before the click is registered, that becomes really irritating. You have to "search" for the specific spot... Not sure if that is because of Proton or is part of the game itself
No problems, just don't Alt + Tab
Had 1 temperature issue with a cooked gpu, which is really strange considering my hardware
Alt + Tab exits the game immediately
