After clicking on 'play game' on splash screen, and getting a message that it will attempt to connect to the internet, get full screen 'black screen', which then switches to three other sizes of all black window before giving "Failed to create device for rendering. Invalid resolution, or cannot run without at least shader model 3.0 (0)" error.
Tried PROTON_USE_WINED3D, PROTON_NO_D3D11 and PROTON_NO_ESYNC options separately without any success. Not tried them together.
On first running, it installs a number of other things, including a Visual C++ redistributable. It then asks for a CD key - don't forget to save the one you're shown right at the start of this! - and for you to complete a four letter CAPTCHA. Which you usually can't see properly, because most of one or more letters is off the top of the narrow strip you can see. Should you get past that, it works - I think - except that you can never get it to 'activated' status. That's possibly because the server itself seems to be gone, but it means you have to do that key and CAPTCHA every. single. time.
