The game supports Controllers, You can connect your ps4 controller for example using bluetooth and it will work fine

I could not go back to the game if i alt tabbed.

Overall (online):Excellent
The multiplayer functions works as it would in windows, The game just has some server side connection issues but the same happens in windows aswell
I didnt tinker i just ran with proton experimental
