Tinker Steps:Launcher: Lutris, Custom Proton: Lutris-7.1, Lutris
I used XIVLauncher from Lutris (https://lutris.net/games/final-fantasy-xiv-online/) and that was pretty much it.

Overall (online):Excellent
so far didn't have any problems whatsoever! everything works wonderfully and i've seen no performance issues. I'm quite amazed
Can't run OOTB from Steam, original launcher will get stuck showing the FF logo. but after installing XIVLauncher from Lutris and pointing it to my FF steamapps folder it ran pretty smoothly from there.

Tinker Steps:Switch to older version: 5.13-6
I tried running with latest Proton and Experimental versions, and the game ran with both, but was pretty laggy while in full HD resolution. I then switched to Proton 5.13-6 and now it runs just fine even in full HD, which makes me glad because this game is sooooo cute <3
