I had no problems running EVE out of the box. However, I had to wipe the existing defunct game installation before I succeeded. Works so far
Not really playable at the moment. Most of the time is spent loading the world.
Steam Deck report. Beyond what is typical for ECO the game now ( since update 10) freezes the whole Deck requiring powercycling. Looks like graphical subsystem issue as reducing graphic settings to minimal increases the time for which the game runs before locking up.
GE build is way more stable than normal proton from 6,7 or 8 branches. Normal level of glitches and crashes for Eco.
A crash due to Video Memory leak about every 12 hours on 6GB card and very low grafic settings including fractional rendering. Minor glitch picking up stone fragments appearing over time and random crashes after a few hours.
Alt-tabbing was not possible - immediately after pressing alt+tab the game window turns black. The game can be minimized with Super+D, but the game showed only black screen after switching back.
Antialiasing badly reduces FPS. 4k/Ultra without antialiasing gives me about 60 FPS, while 1440p/Ultra with x4 antialiasing gives 15 FPS
The game is not playable out of the box due to the inability to interact with the world in FPS mode. Some polishing required.
Game crashes in FPS mode right after exiting the cockpit and trying to turn left to get to the medbay. Might be some issue related to opening doors.
The intro video was sound only (black screen during the playback). Scene transition videos were sound only. After cancelling video with ESC the game started at the first combat scene.
The game works but you have to be persistent xD
The game crashes every time you enter new scene (planets, parkan interiors, etc) or meet new type of robot. Also crashed on first landing on ammo effects. However, once all those resources were processed once it stopped crashing on those and I was actually able to fly around, shoot some pirates, land on planet, get a mission, trade so pretty much everything from the standard gameplay.
The game runs fine with latest proton version. Some bug prevents automatic creation of registry entries - see fix with registry file.

ALT-Tab does not work. Was able to minimize window and work outside normally with Super+D in Gnome
