Besides some extremely minor issues, it runs well on Linux with no modification
some small lighting glitches around emissive textures
Chapter 2 has a lower FPS than the rest of the game
One "Fatal Error" crash during chapter 4. Worked fine after relaunching the game.

the game has slight framerate issues during races
I played the Celeros Demo using build Pre-Alpha 0.6.0. The gameplay was great but the framerate was bad. I ended up using Proton-GE and gamemoderun to fix performance problems and still had to lower some in-game graphics settings.

Some menu text is too small for the display. The in-game hud also contains small text but the important information is large enough to see.
There were massive framerate issues during gameplay. The Steam Deck struggled to run the game on low.
The game crashes after exiting settings menu but changes will persist on the next launch.
I played Celeros Demo using build Pre-Alpha 0.6.0. Even after setting the graphics quality to low, I only ever reached 30-45 FPS. The FPS would drop to 30 while moving and 45 when floating idle in the air. The performance overlay (Mangohud) did not report any power or thermal throttling.
The text on the welcome screen, HUD, and quest descriptions are very hard to read. The game does not have an option for scaling text but you can still read it if you get close to the display. Thankfully, this is more of a minor annoyance than something that ruins the experience.
I played this on version Demo 2.25g which is an early preview. The game contains some harmless movement bugs and lacks scaling options for small displays. These are not Linux-specific issues since they persist on other operating systems as well.
Runs decently for a preview build
It has occasional framerate drops with UI animations but nothing bad. It will drop for a few frames and go back to normal.
I played the demo since the full build is not released yet. It might be worth trying gamemoderun or proton-ge for more performance but I don't see it as nessesary.
framerate drops are common when in water, there are in-game settings to disable some water effects and make the game run faster
Overall the game runs extremely well. The game's default graphics are too heavy for the Steam Deck but the developer has presets to fix this. I personally use the "Steam Deck Performance" preset since I prefer the higher framerate over the quality.
runs great on Linux
I played version Alpha v44.010-DEMO. It ran perfectly fine with no issues or tinkering needed.
Does not work with Nvidia 535.104
I tried many options with no success. The game will not work after pressing "New" on the main menu. I can not try downgrading my driver since I do not have a copy of the older Nvidia driver packages.
Proton versions tried:
- Proton Experimental
- Proton-GE (GE_Proton8_14-1)
- Proton-8.0-3
Launch options tried:
- %command
- PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NAVPI=1 %command%
- PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NAVPI=1 mangohud gamemoderun %command%
- PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NAVPI=1 mangohud %command%
- PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NAVPI=1 gamemoderun %command%
I completed the entire game with no issues using default settings

I played the demo because the full game is not out yet. The game had poor performance for my hardware with the default Steam options (just Proton Experimental, no launch options). The tinkering mentioned in my report fixed the performance issues.
