Been playing for around 2 hours, killed 9-toes-3-balls. So far no big issues.
Very minor, and it could've been part of the game and just my impression. But it's random, short, here and there. Nothing that would bother you much or at all.
With Linux I always experience tearing and don't really know how to solve it "from the OS". In this game, turn ON v-sync in game, and lock FPS to 60 or your respective refresh rate. That solves tearing and v-sync does not add input lag (noticeable or at all).
There's a minor bug, if you go from borderless or FS to "windowed", going back you have a weird res and fov. You have to go back to windowed, and then FS/ borderless again and it fixes itself.
If you can't launch the game, as others have stated: Go to the game's files from Steam (properties, local files, browse local files). Then inside the BLandsGOTYE folder, go into /binaries/win64: -Copy BorderlandsGOTY.exe to the desktop -Rename it Launcher.exe -Copy new "fake" Launcher.exe; paste on folder. Overwrite existing. Now game launches.
Everything ran just fine, nothing extra needed. But from Flatpak version of Steam. See concluding notes.
The game only froze momentarily when I had lag spikes, visible with net_graph on, when ping was steady, everything was fine.
As seen and explained on this thread https://linustechtips.com/topic/1522462-csgo-wont-launch-on-linux-help-please/ Steam (Runtime) installed through sudo pacman -S steam, caused issues with CS:GO specifically for some reason. Flatpak version allowed me to just download, install and play. Added 2nd drive. Already launched other games as well.
Had to run it through "Steam Linux Runtime" Proton, otherwise it wouldn't launch natively.
Pressed "play" and immediately could press play again, the game wouldn't load natively (without forcing compatibility). I decided to do it with Steam Linux Runtime to test something and it launched. Been playing for a while, zero issues. I'd like to know if Proton 8.0-3 or some of those work. Others said it worked natively for them. (I use flatpak because native Steam gave me issues with csgo, similar behavior).
