You can play the tutorial. That's it
The game launches and plays the tutorial with no issues, however that's all you're able to do. You can't actually play the core game because you cannot connnect to the servers. Considering the game has been out for a while now, I doubt the devs will ever bother to enable Linux support
I am impressed at how well this game runs, considering it was never "meant to" run on Linux
gamemoderun %command%
Some glitchy crackles from time to time, gets worse when I have something playing in the bg, eg. a Youtube video on another screen. Not too disruptive overall, and almost never happens when I don't have another screen connected and nothing in the bg.
Game was prone to crashing on Alt+Tab on fullscreen with multiple monitors, haven't tested other configurations yet. The game also really didn't like when I switched workspaces on its monitor - this was borderless window.
Slight drop in fps in missions, mainly on Wayland. However, borderline uplayable at times without the "gamemoderun %command%" launch options. Haven't tested much on X11 but the performance did seem better over there, about on par with Windows.
For my setup - quite unstable without "gamemoderun %command%" launch option. Once I set that, it was a lot better - about on par with Windows for me.
I play mainly solo multiplayer, but it did connect me to a public lobby just fine.
I daily drive GNOME on Wayland with an Nvidia GPU, with Nvidia proprietary drivers, on a laptop - let's say it's no wonder I had issues. It was not a pleasant experience for me without the launch options set up. With them, it's a night and day difference, I can't complain. And considering Fedora's decision to drop support for X11 in the future... I'm optimistic that the performance and stability will only get better once more optimizations start coming in!
