This game is currently in "Early Access" and does not have native Linux support. The performance is quite poor even without proton.

Severe lags with FPS dropping below 1.
Not worth trying on Linux (Proton) at the current state.
Both of my real RC controllers worked flawlessly.
The blueprints on the build bench are black, but this is actually a bug that affects windows too.
Mods work but currently have to be copied or linked from the steamapps workshop folder into Addons/.
The original game already is slow, this is even slower
Works fine out-of-the-box with the correct setup
Particle effects seem to be discoloured, but otherwise functions okay.
Will not boot if using the Steam Flatpak runtime, works flawlessly if using Steam from RPMFusion
Steam will attempt to launch the game, however no splash screen appears or game window, and Steam comes back with the regular 'Play' button

Game freezes after loading Tutorial/Workshop
When the tutorial loads I'll get to the point where I can see the 3D environment and targeting reticle, but then the game freezes. Tried to load just the workshop, got a blank screen. Had to force kill.
At the moment, the performance is quite bad (not a hardware problem since other games run fine), but it may be optimized in a later update.
Input latency on keyboard later in the play session In missions from the people on the ground, mouse camera controls panned sideways around the plane instead of orbiting the plane
Performance drops in the plane editor when adding engines, FPS gradually gets worse over play session
Open Beta (Playtest) works fine
Explosion particle effects generated by firing guns look slightly off. Minor issue, to be honest.
Mouse seems slightly floaty at times, much too responsive at other times. Could have something to do with mouse acceleration?
It loaded one time and then it just refused to load at all times, but something weird happened
Actually it's loading, but the loading screen won't go away and you can even press buttons and hear button clicks, not sure if that's issue of the game or because of proton
