Runs a bit heavy for a retro-style game, but it does not affect the experience negatively.
Game is unplayable without setting launch options to PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
If you use a tiling WM, make sure to set the game's window to floating before attempting to change resolution in graphics settings. Otherwise it will have a seizure.
The game crashed for a total of two times over 8 hours of play time. I was not able to reproduce the crashes.
Runs just fine Out-Of-The-Box
Performance issues with animations but nothing to prevent playing
Animations, whether in combat or game menus drop frame rate from 60 to the tens. Other exploration and interaction in the game is fine though.
Seemingly esync related but followed the steps listed here to resolve: https://github.com/zfigura/wine/blob/esync/README.esync
The game takes 2-3 minutes to launch and animations cause big frame drops, although the sluggish animations (in combat at least) can make for some unintentional slo-mo style combat fun. It is generally fun and perfectly playable so far.

Apart from the long wait to launch, the game has been enjoyable
Animations were very slow during the fights. The animation speed randomly went from what I assume to be the regular speed to very slow to fast again
Took 6 minutes for the game to launch after clicking play in steam
