The game works fine after changing to windowed on the game settings
The game will not open on fullscreen, you should play it on windowed.
The game crashes every time if you choose to skip during the cutscenes, so be aware.
For some reason the game will not open with Opengl or Software rendering, only Direct3D9 seems to work, everything else don't change anything I guess, Adventure Game Studio is not an engine I know much.

Doesn't work with the default Steam Deck controls layout, and has some minor input problems after selecting the community layout. Other than that, the game is very much playable.
40hz and TDP limit
Needed to change some options and needed community layout for trackpads.
Launcher needs trackpads
Occassional hanging and crashes when launching, but after force quitting and retrying all good.
Works like it should be Steam Deck Playable compatibility status.
Full play-through with mouse and keyboard
Doesn't run in fullscreen, make sure to enable Start in windowed mode.
Only works with Direct3D 9 as Driver option, won't run in OpenGL or Software renderer
It seems to work as intended out of the box

Game will hang on first run; kill the process, run the "Play Game Settings" option and configure it for DX9/Windowed or OpenGL/Full screen, then pick "save and run" and the game will work well. Software rendering doesn't work and will hang.

I haven't tested with controller but until now I had no problem with the game
