Good game out of the box
From time to time some visual issues

unset LC_ALL && PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.3COMPAT %command%
Disabling the menu videos helps

Perfectly playable other than very minor and infrequent rendering issues with nametags/speech bubbles.
Xbox One controller detected, most buttons were mapped incorrectly and the experience was overall unplayable. Ended up just using mouse and keyboard.

Le mode multijoueur en ligne fonctionne parfaitement
Le jeu fonctionne parfaitement, aucun problème rencontré

The native version of this game works so well there really isn't any good reason to run it through Proton.
Cloud saves between the native version and the Windows version don't work by default, so you need to move the files between both version manually. Unless you'll be using the save on just multiple Linux installs or just multiple Windows installs.
Private Lobbies with Steam Friends work without any problems. Inviting works with normal gamepad menus

Use Proton! Native linux seems to be a bit broken, window/fullscreen issues and xbox controller doesn't work in native version.
Works just fine using Proton

Works fine, but you probably shouldn't use the native version.
Exiting fullscreen on the Linux native version messes up the game window, causing it to either shrink to uncomfortable sizes or just vanish entirely.
On the Linux native version, the game doesn't detect my Switch Pro Controller without Steam Input, but when I enable it the game detects 2 controllers bound to my controller instead, starting couch co-op immediately.
The native version seems kinda borked. If you are concerned by playing the game windowed and/or playing with a switch controller, you should most definitely play this game with Proton.
Very infrequent fps drops.
Played with a friend online and had an absolute blast.
Other than the game having a weird system for setting up local mulitplayer, it ran perfect.
Incredible game to play on deck. Runs perfectly and controls are very easy to use.
How to remove save files from home directory
$ WINEPREFIX="/home/$USER/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/641990/pfx" winecfg
Go to Drives and remove Z:
perfect out of the box

Works pretty much perfectly, natively.
Only two annoyances:
It creates a 'Team 17' folder in the home directory - I don't like this because I prefer to keep my home nice and tidy.
When my brother tried using his Nintendo Switch Pro controller to play co-op with me, it creates two characters for him. Above I have said that it works perfectly because I think it's an issue with his controller and Linux and not The Escapists 2 per se because other controllers work fine and he had the same issue with Move or Die on his own computer.
Steam version runs fine on native and proton, This site isn't for reporting Epic Games

with the Epic version over Lutris I had no sound but I installed the stuff here: https://www.gloriouseggroll.tv/how-to-get-out-of-wine-dependency-hell/ and it worked just fine
The Epic version works just fine with Proton, but if you want to play Online you might want to use legendary with rare or just Heroic Launcher
Works almost perfectly on proton, but is completely unplayable on native.

Save files are in '$HOME/Team 17 Digital Ltd_'
Match making with SteamFriends is a bit tricky
slightly buggy when "alt-tabbing" in tiling wm
the game saves in your home directory, which is really annoying.
The save games are saved to '$HOME/Team 17 Digital Ltd_'. This is really annoying.

Stuck on opening credits - Lutris/Epic Games install
Will say compiling shaders, then go to the opening credits screen and freeze. Full logout required to regain control of the system. Epic Games is inoperable after this without a reboot.
Works perfectly through Proton - but not native...?
I installed the native version first, which would not launch. It works perfectly fine with Proton.

Works native and out of the box on Proton with DXVK (DX11). I installed manually D9VK and the game worked fine with this DX9 to Vulkan translation.
