A slower RTS than what has come out and you can get a breath. The Techtree is building based and the Wormholes allow a for strategic depth
Simply running protontricks icodecs to get sound working
When making the audio more silent it can happen that other audio completely mutes the music then plays once it was qeued. Music needs icodes installed.
The game is old and only runs in the one resolution in 4:3 so it looks a bit odd. But works well.
DirectInput must be disabled for mouse movement to work
The Source is included with the Game. So porting is possible :)
No sound at all
Turn off direct input for mouse issue
This game doesn't run well on windows either and actually runs slightly better on linux but still is basically unplayable
There was no sound at all
mouse was shaky and i could not select any units as a soon as you'd select any they would instantly deselect
I could not run at my native resolution

It work just with no sound at all. It will not play the beginning videos just press ECS and the mouse will act strange turn off "enable direct input" under settings.

Doesn't work out of the box, possible to get working mostly fine with workarounds (you need to run the game from a terminal rather than the Steam client). Campaign/quick battle work well. Multiplayer untested. Steps taken to get working: Create 32-bit WINE prefix to install icodecs to (and to ensure sound works correctly): $> WINEPREFIX="$HOME/wine32" WINEARCH=win32 wine wineboot
With 32-bit prefix set as default prefix, install icodecs: $> winetricks icodecs
The intro movies do not work on Linux, run the game from terminal using wine (rather than Steam client) like so: $> wine Conquest.exe /skipmovies
Uncheck "Enable DirectInput" option in game to fix slow mouse issue and game is now fully playable for me with full sound and graphics.
