Proton experimental & Proton 8.X make the game crash on launch. As for Proton 7.X it runs relatively smoothly.
Set Dpad to a radial menu that had three stopwatch settings and a clear stopwatch for the 4th reset stopwatch function. Set A,B,X,Y to C,G,ESC key , F so that I had access to the flashlight and charts. I set the left trackpad push to the shift key to control both engines.
This game is very playable, if a little harder to play on the small screen. Despite no official support, Wolfpack runs great on the Steam deck. You will need to bind some keys, the C key at a minimum. Performance was no problem.
If you have a powerful enough system, this game works rather well in Proton.
This is a taxing game for the system i was using. It looks to get the performance level I would expect given the hardware I was using. I noticed issues connecting to lobbies on older (4.x?) versions of proton, but it's been stable with Proton 6.3-8.
Runs fairly well. Performance decrease on latest version of the game but major parts were updated
there are simply no downsides to playing wolfpack on linux
resizing the window can cause the framerate to plummet. switching to fullscreen and back fixes it most of the time
turning via mouse movement after using a station may only work in one direction. hitting tab usually fixes it
Starts without tweaks, but takes a few seconds in a black screen to get to the main menu. Tabbing in and out of the game permanently reduces the Resolution hight to minus the of the Window decorations and GNOME Top-bar, also the mouse seams to hang after tabbing into the game.
Switching back to the game after changing windows while in full screen mode will shrink it into a ~100x100px square in the top-left of the screen, forcing you to restart the game
