bought it. installed it. played it. nothing out of the ordinary happened

Couldn't launch the game with the native version, switch to Proton though and it worked immediately with mods and without any flaws.

Launching it via Proton works out of the box.

Prior to openssl-1.1 install game would not launch (despite having default openssl package installed already). Worked perfectly afterwards.
Installed openssl-1.1 package

Native version doesn't work even with `openssl-1.1` installed (at least under a flatpak runtime). Proton runs fine.
ALT+TAB makes textures become a scrambled mess

native is borked out of the box on ubuntu as others have mentioned. could have tried to fix the dependency issue, but experimental works flawless with 1 click, so that's the easy answer....

gamemoderun %command%
sudo zypper install libopenssl1_1
Only works if you install openssl (run ldd ./devildaggers
) to see the missing libraries
Proton also works OOTB.
The only library I had to install to run the native build was openssl-1.1
(on Arch). On other distros the name will probably be different, or it may be harder to install the proper version.
It just works

gamemoderun %command%
Native version worked for a while when I was on KDE, when switching to Hyprland I had to use GE
Works great out of the box

Game crashes right after start
unplayable
Enable gyro for a more smooth aiming experience. You might also want to customize the controls if you want some specifics on your back grip!
The game runs perfectly fine on linux, there's a packaging problem on Ubuntu 22.x related to the specific file needed to run the game.
Running these two commands fixes the issue:
wget http://nz2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openssl/libssl1.1_1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.16_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i libssl1.1_1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.16_amd64.deb
Native doesn't work, runs fine with Proton
When trying to start the game using the native version it just doesn't launch. The play icon turns blue for a split second then goes back to a regular green Play button as if nothing happened. Works completely fine using proton though.

The Windows version works perfectly through Proton. The native port failed to launch on this computer for some reason, although I've used it in the past on other machines.
Native Linux game, runs perfectly OOTB.
This is a native Linux game, should work with zero issues on any distro.
Flawless victory
No issues - works great
Flawless
I'm bad at the game but it seems to run well for the bits I can get to.
When I played with the native version it would freeze some times but with proton 7.0 it ran perfectly
Native build long since fixed to include the right libraries, but Windows version also still works just fine under Proton.

Native build has actually been borked for some time due to it not being updated to work with libcurl4 installed. Easily fixed by temporarily rolling back to libcurl3 and copying the required 'libcurl.so.4' library into the game's 'lib64' directory.

Native seems broken (doesn't launch) but the game runs perfectly with Proton.

Doesn't work natively, but works perfectly fine using proton 4.2-2
Doesn’t seem to work natively and neither with any of the Proton versions (3.16-4, 3.7-8, etc.)

Says running but nothing shows up and it closes
