The game runs good, i didn't tried multiplayer.

WINEPREFIX=~/newprefix PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Installed Windows Core Fonts with the Prefix. Checked the box for "renderer=gl".
At around 40 minutes of gameplay, the sound engine completly blacked out.
The Game crashed about 40 seconds in, when using Fullscreen instead of borderless window.
It lagged significantly just after I spawned a few vehicles. Somehow it wasn't using my full power, since my system monitor showed that almost everything ran at about 8% load.
I fell through the Map a lot and all fonts are still missing. Just going by muscle memory.
I disconnected a lot in the beginning, but it almost never happened again after I hit the one-hour mark in one session.
Launch Issue
Launching straight from Steam wouldn't work. It would show the Axolot splash screen and give me the following error:
Assertion failed!
Program: C:\windows\system32\winevulkan.dll
File: ../src/loader/wine_loader_thunks.c
Line: 1051
Expression: status && "WOW64PRESETOK"
Fix
After some time with my fellow Freelancer (ChatGPT), I toggled some settings in the Proton prefix, notably the renderer=gl setting and the installation of the basic MS fonts.
They also made the following launch option, which I think made it work in the end:
WINEPREFIX=~/newprefix PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
If none of my things I wrote here helped you, I can suggest that you try out the next launch option, which could help:
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
If that still didn't help, just try to restart (or just logging out and in again) your PC fully.
Font Issue
Regarding the font issue. I am still unable to see text in the game, even though I installed the following fonts manually:
Shentox, Inter, Noto Sans, SMDigital, Grup03, Futura, SovjetBoxBd.
I just play the game from muscle memory and with some assistance from my friends.
Display Crash Tip
If you manage to start the game, switch instantly to borderless window or just windowed, because the fullscreen will probably crash your game.
might be related to in game physics tho
Works as expected
Only happened when physics engine was causing a lot of lag.
Generally the same as on Windows
My previous report was false, there was a problem with my NTFS formatted disk.
Stopped working sometime during February.
Tested enforcing proton experimental, 9.0.4 and 5.0. Last two versions showed an error running the game, Hotfix and Experimental just don't do anything. Tried switching GPU driver version to 535. Verifying integrity of game files worked once.

Nothing happens when clicking play.
Doesn't work for me.

Works out of the box

gamemoderun %command%
Sometimes on startup, if scrap mechanic looses focus, it will become a small window and can only be fixed by restarting.
Don't play with anything but smart physics, anything else is unplayable
It works the exact same as windows so im sure someone would enjoy it.

Game runs as expected with Proton GE 9-20 (Flatpak) did not try running with other proton versions

Game works fairly well on Steam Deck. K&M is still preferable, but the vibration and haptic feedback on the Deck are too good to pass up.
Crashes occasionally but only when the game has a very large and laggy build.
It certainly doesn't deserve the Silver badge that it has at the time of writing. I'd say with just turning down some graphic settings and changing the controls, it's pretty much good.

When there is a lot of collisions the game like to stutter but it's not a Linux problem

The game is hard to play as all text is missing, and the ground will not render in-game. Other than that the game runs great.
PROTON_NO_D3D=1 %command%
I have tried multiple version of proton, both official and unofficial
All text is missing

Plays like normal
Had to override the Integrated Intel Graphics inorder for vulkan to work properly
Has the same issues as it had on windows
Game starts, runs and plays perfectly

works great, i didnt even know it was running through proton until a few weeks ago
can be laggy with large contraptions, the other player will fall behind and not be able to place things without a big delay (the problem is on windows too its not a linux only issue)
works perfectly, out of the box.

Game runs perfectly
My save downloaded from Steam Cloud loaded but game didn't change the loading screen to actual game, so it was stuck on loading screen forever.

Game is stuck on world loading screen.
Game boots up main menu works but when i choose world and click play it loads but it's stuck forever on loading screen, even if the progress bar is full it still shows loading screen.

The game works perfect and runs even better than on windows.
Online multiplayer works perfectly fine with no issues at all.
No tinkering needed, More performant on linux than windows, THE BEST gaming experiences i have had on linux.

Works perfectly fine. I haven't tried multiplayer, but in a heavily loaded local world there were no freezes or anything else
gamemoderun %command%
Just does not boot on both experimental and also 9.0-1
gamemoderun %command%
Other than the standard Scrap Mechanic multiplayer issues, it's fine.
Perfect with Proton 8.0-5

Worked fine, if with long load times
loading times suspiciously long, os says the game is not responding several times but it does load, gameplay runs perfectly smoothly
Works and plays, but impractically as there is litterally no text in the main menu and especially in the in-game HUD.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Perfect ootb

On different than native resolution, upscale artifacts appear
Proton Experimental ; Native Resolution ; Better FPS than Win10

There's a bug with the water textures and their transparencies: the water is sectioned into non-transparent tiles that try to display the water bottom in a buggy way.
The sensitivity of the mouse is wrongly too high, even though it is set to minimum.
For some unknown reason, the game takes a lot of graphics power to display the menus.
I think the majority of bugs are related to incompatibilities with the game rendering system and kernel drivers because the game worked quite well before Pop!_OS kernel version 6.2.6 .

Worked perfectly after fixing a general 3d rendering problem by switching to NVIDIA 510 drivers
Worked great out of the box
I installed vcredist 2013 and vcredist 2015. I also installed all fonts and then it worked.
It sometimes launched to the main menu, but with no text on screen visible (like the on-screen buttons did not have anything in them). Other times it gave a generic error and broke before getting to the menu.
Game works as expected. Nice experience
Some stuttering, but it might also be a problem on Windows
Multiplayer worked great. Could host my own world for me and my friends. Also tried joining my friends. It worked.
Doesnt work on Manjaro
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Worked on Ubuntu before
