I had a bunch of screen tearings (like black rectangles or mid-changed CG). But I figured out it happened because of fade-in/out effects. If you turn them off by enabling "Skip scene trationsions" setting in the game's configuration (Configuration > System > Screen > Skip scene transitions), you can play without this visual mess.

When transiting between chapters, sometimes it will hang, encountered similar situation with fruits of grisaia as well. Restart the game and try to proceed the scene again or try the scene with windows.
No problem with videos, OP, ED for cocoon and preview all worked.

i tested the videos, the skip function (before this version of ge i saw that proton had a problem where it was bugging out when using skip), and every menu. i can finally say that this game is fully playable now because those things that i listed are actually working properly now.
I've had a few crashes in The Cocoon of Caprice. Once near the beginning (I don't exactly remember), and one at the very end of Cocoon of Caprice 15. You can bypass it by using the skip button I guess.
There's probably more in the middle, but I switched to Windows already :(
Movies don't work...
I was able to get the movie to work by running protontricks 345620 lavfilter
, but the game would crash immediately after the movie finished. I ran protontricks 345620 quartz
and the game wouldn't crash after, but there would be only sound...
I gave up on trying to get movies to work afterwards :(
I almost want to say no to "Would a typical gamer enjoy playing this game on Linux as you've played it?". The few crashes are really annoying, especially on very intense scenes. Movies not working aren't a big deal breaker for the most part, except for the end of The Cocoon of Caprice. The last movie is pretty important.
I think you're better off playing on Windows if possible. But most of the game is pretty good
Videos do not work. You have to disable videos in the in-game settings
Even with video disabled, the intro video "played" by just being a black screen for about a minute and a half before resuming the game as normal.
Works fine
When voice skip is disabled the game freezes with a black screen on screen transitions at times. With default settings this shouldn't occur.

AHora es posible jugar grisaia de principio a fin You can play all Grisaia game but not cutscenes.
EN los videos o cinematicas any video or cinematic reproduce the video
EL juego es jugable de principio a fin, sin embargo los vídeos no estarán disponibles. ALl the game is playable, but cinematics are incompatible.
Las cinematicas, NINGUNA aparece, pero se pueden saltar.

Flicker Fix: 1 inside (line 45) in the config/startup.xml file.

Runs just about well enough to make progress but has numerous issues. Getting movies working (Eg. Intro/Endings) required: winetricks quartz
, disabling winegstreamer
in winecfg and manually installing LAVFilters to the prefix. Best played in windowed mode; scene transitions tended to cause the game to lock-up when in fullscreen. The game has persistent sprite and text flickering that I have been unable to improve and the system config window's layout/size is mangled. Non of the usual tweaks appeared to have any impact and the same issues occur in wine-staging too.

game does start but when starting or going into option menu only dark screen. Sound is working

Get a black background when entering the settings or a route. Music still playing in the background, you can hear when the mouse hovers over items in the menu.
