Not a linux oriented enjoyment apart from able to use proton to run windows games, but it's great to enjoy your rollercoasters in the palm o
Proton EXPERIMENTAL
changed right trackpad to be mouse instead of joystick and left mouseclick on press.
Depending on how demanding the map is, easy graphical maps, you can limit gpu clocks to 500mhz, but higher depending how many sceneries there's in it. Fenrir map however used 100% gpu for a split second with no limitations.
It only crashed if i turned on any form of antialiasing.
No extra tickering needed really. The right trackpad does work out of the box as a joystick, but is quite bad. Mouse trackpad with configuring the official layout recommended. All you'd have to do is go into compatability and choose proton experimental. That's it. (not sure if simply enabling it is considered tinkering)

PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Switching window modes or changing the window resolution while a ride is loaded might crash.
Experienced a crash loading a park with many scene objects.
Working mostly fine for me when using PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1.
it used to work fine with some minor bugs like crashing, which was tolerable enough for me, but now it just doesn't run at all
Custom layout based on one used for Steam Controller - including a multi-layer touch menu on the left trackpad
With customized gamepad (Steam Deck) controls the play mode seems fully functional. Without a mouse and keyboard, I wouldn't suggest any real attempt to do much in the editor.
The only minor annoyance I've experienced is that some of the pop-up windows (weather control for example) seem to default to odd positions near the bottom corners of the display, but they can be freely moved about the screen, so it's a non-issue.
The game starts, but you only get to the main menu, the buttons are there. But you cant click them, because the cursor disapperes
The game works perfectly out of the box, all the previous issues, even the others reported, are no longer present.

Works fine, as long as you don't turn the camera
Turning the camera in the editor instantly crashes the game.
Seemingly random stops, esp. when changing the application mode (Editor -> Main Menu or Visualisation -> Editor)
Play portion of the Simulation is usable with a Controller, Editor not usable because of the Freezing Issue.
Game Locks Up when the Mouse is used outside of the Main Menu. Using Controller doesn't lock the game up. With no Controller connected the Game doesn't always lock up immediately.
Seems to be patched and now running on Linux via Steam Play. Was riding a track (Colossus) at 1440p 60fps everything was fine.

Game Crashes at Start with Error Message "Direct3D returned with an unknown error code. X11/GNU/Linux was detected so this is most likely an implementation error inside the DirectX emulation layer of your OS."

Output with default settings:
Welcome to NoLimits 2 Demo (2.5.7.1 Windows x86_64) Renderer: D3D11 FATAL ERROR: Direct3D returned with an unknown error code. X11/GNU/Linux was detected so this is most likely an implementation error inside the DirectX emulation layer of your OS.

Game Crashes at Start with Error Message "Direct3D returned with an unknown error code. X11/GNU/Linux was detected so this is most likely an implementation error inside the DirectX emulation layer of your OS."

The game crashes as soon as it launches. A window pops up saying "Direct3D returned with an unknown error code. X11/GNU/Linux was detected so this is most likely an implementation error inside the DirectX emulation layer of your OS."

The install from Steam works fine, game won't start, and gives an error: "FATAL ERROR: Direct3D returned with an unknown error code. X11/GNU/Linux was detected so this is most likely an implementation error inside the DirectX emulation layer of your OS." The game uses Direct3D version 11.
