running about 330 mods and i get various bugs, from a missing menu to no UI to the steamdeck restarting 3/4ths of the time. DO NOT MOD ON THE STEAM DECK OR IT WILL RESTART THE WHOLE SYSTEM EVERYTIME YOU TRY TO PLAY

Mods not working. Mod lists that work on my windows PC perfectly fine run into large amounts of errors and issues on steamdeck.
Stuff like Vanilla Factions Expanded Mechanoids fail to load for me and cause the game to crash, but some other Vanilla Factions mods work just fine, modlists I create on PC that work perfectly cause major problems on steamdeck making it unplayable.
Changed refresh rate to 40hz
Occasional crashing on load, 1-2 crashes on opening the save menu, a few other misc crashed
Hotkeys to do specific actions didn't work with a keyboard connected (displayed controller prompts)
Runs as well as on Windows (though that does include massive frame drops at 2x speed)
impossible de sauvegarder une partie, mais ça ne m'est arrivé qu'une seule fois
sauvegarde buggé à cause d'un déplacement du SSD à la microsd
controls are intuitive. I have only played rimworld on the deck so coming from a mouse and keyboard may be difficult but I have no issues
Running at 40 fps and 40 refresh rate, could go down to 30 to save even more battery and would be fine.
Reduced refresh rate, max power consumption and set max FPS to 30
Steam cloud savegame synchronization between Linux PC and Steam Deck was problematic. Warnings about unsynchronized savegames even though the other device stated everything was up-to-date.
Rimworld works really well on the Steam Deck, even if, at first glance, they do not seem like a perfect fit. The power saving adjustments makes the game run for 4h+ on a fully charged Steam Deck.
Limited TDP to 10W and FPS to 30, though I'm not entirely sure either of those made too big an impact. A starter (but heavily modded) colony gives me about 2 hours of playtime at 20% battery.
The team behind Rimworld has certainly put in a lot of work to make it a trouble-free, enjoyable experience on the Steam Deck. The default controller layout is great, and for added benefits I suggest enabling the back-buttons.
